We have decided to continue our wanderlusting years by buying a RV and hope to spend the next few years exploring North America. After spending the last 10 years sailing around the world in our Lagoon 440 sailboat, the concept of settling down, re-establishing roots and becoming “normal” again is just too much for us to wrap our minds around. Thus, we decided to strike out and start a new adventure, this time on land.
During our sailing adventure. we met so many nice and generous people. That experience restored our faith in mankind. While there is evil in the world, the world is not at all like what the 24/7 news channels make it out to be. We discovered that the vast majority of people, no matter what race, no matter what religion, no matter what culture they are from, are just like you and us: warm, caring, struggling to raise productive families and trying to make the world a better place to live in. In fact, we discovered that the poorer the people, the more generous they are as the concept of hoarding is foreign to them.
We have tried to adopt as much of this mindset as we can as we work hard to “pay it forward”. It is our hope that the next group of people who follow in our path will have an easier time of it. With that in mind, our blog will not just focus on the highlights of our adventure (although we anticipate a plethora of thoses) but also will describe each hardship and frustration we come up against. We will strive to make this as honest of a blog as we can so those reading it and wish to strike out and go down the road on their own, will do so with a realistic anticipation.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them in the comments section of each blog. We will try to answer each and everyone of them.
